Letter to the Editor: Ryne Scholl has integrity, honesty and the financial skills to continue as treasurer
Breckenridge
I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Ryne for the last two years. We met at the Breckenridge Golf Club, where Ryne and I compete each summer amongst our peers for the coveted chance to be the best golfer in Summit. It’s during those competitive rounds where you really get to know the character of a person. You see, golf is a game where you call penalties on yourself — where honesty and integrity are equally as important as skill. What you do when nobody is watching matters most.
Ryne and I have shared countless conversations on and off the course regarding the financial challenges facing our community. It’s in these conversations where I gain a sense of ease knowing that we are in good hands. As a Master of Business Administration, Ryne presents a clear understanding of his role as Summit County treasurer and his understanding of financial practices. He’s accountable, knowledgeable and available! Ryne is out in our community volunteering his financial expertise to nonprofits and his golf expertise to our kids as the Summit High School Varsity golf coach. In fact, he’s in the early stages of working to start a girls golf program so that young women in Summit have the same opportunities as men.
This is exactly the kind of person who should be responsible for public funds — someone we can trust to call penalties on himself and be immersed in the community.
I’m supporting Ryne for treasurer. I hope you will, too.
