Letter to the editor: Some ideas to optimize the school district’s housing swap
Summit Cove
Unless I am missing something, what a great idea for the Summit School District to swap a $1 million dollar piece of land for 35 housing units in Breckenridge.
My only concern would be why try to sell these units when 46% of the staff were not interested in a purchase, and the other 54% may be new hires with student loans, car loans, etc., who could not afford a purchase, even with the subsidized price. Why not retain them as rental properties to only school district employees?
Not willing to carry the construction cost? Why not sell them to local investors with the caveat that they will be rented to school district employees?
If they did that, I may be in for a couple units.
