Letter to the Editor: The ice sculptures should be allowed to stay longer in Breckenridge

Sharon Chertok
Breckenridge

Sadly, on Feb. 2 I passed the empty parking lot where the ice sculptures had been for the past week.

I would like to propose that the snow sculptures from the International Snow Sculpture Championships be allowed to remain for more than the one week they presently are allowed.

It seems to me, giving up the area of the F Lot where they are staged is a small price to pay for the numbers of people that come to see them and the potential for the businesses and restaurants in town to profit from it over a longer period of time.

I am sure there are financial and other considerations that I am not aware of connected to their remaining for a longer period of time. Perhaps those who do make those decisions can weigh the option of a longer viewing time.
