Letter to the editor: The Summit Board of County Commissioners needs to tread lightly

Myna Gathers
Summit County

Regarding a Summit Daily News article titled “Summit County officials consider move to make approving affordable housing easier,” it would seem to me that Summit Board of County Commissioners should tread lightly as they seek to find other avenues to cram their illegal ideas down county residents throats.

They already find themselves in a lawsuit, which will be huge waste of tax dollars, for their allegedly unconstitutional usurping of private property rights from short-term rental owners. Now they want more leeway as they approve projects that will impact all citizens of Summit County.

Perhaps they need to be reminded that they serve at the pleasure of local voters. This is, after all, still a democracy.
