Letter to the editor: We need to build more tunnels to fix our traffic issues
Silverthorne
Pushing this Interstate 70 project at Exit 205 down the line will only cost more in the future!
Yes the Exit 203 (Frisco) and Copper Mountain interchanges need huge improvements along with Exit 205 and Interstate 70 all the way to Denver. Tunnels from Georgetown to Silverthorne for passenger cars cars only would improve flow and safety. Another tunnel under tenderfoot and under lake Dillon connecting to Colorado Highway 9 at Farmers Korner would improve traffic flow.
Tunnels from the Western Slope to Denver were made more than 50 years ago, and technology is better today. The improvements they want to make are temporary and outdated before they are even started.
The money our governor has wasted in the last seven years on illegals and wolves would easily have paid for the current projects! It’s pathetic he has put things like this before public transport and safety!
