Letter to the editor: We need to lobby to keep night skiing at Keystone Resort
Centennial
Keystone has the largest vertical night skiing in the Western Hemisphere, so why do they want to get rid of it?
They claim it’s “not as popular as it once was.” But this is because they charge too much for it. Who’s going to pay $120 to $150 for three hours of skiing? Note: Season pass skiers don’t seem to count in this.
If they were to stay open till 8 p.m., charge half that much (say $69) and actually promote it, (especially to those who have the “other ” pass) they could easily get enough paying customers to stay open most nights.
This is a world-class asset right here in Summit County, and everyone loses if they succeed in getting rid of it.
