EPA fixes end in disaster (letter)

The EPA’s disastrous “fix” that fouled the Animas River caused damage that pales in comparison to the damage they will cause with their proposal for “carbon control” from power plants. Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant but an essential ingredient in the Earth’s ecosystem. Human emission of CO2 is trivial compared to its natural sources and sinks, and there is not one iota of reliable evidence that CO2, at only 0.05 percent of the atmosphere, has any effect on weather, climate or human health.

Our current system for power generation from fossil fuels is working fine. A natural market evolution for the use of natural gas to replace coal is presently underway and is yielding less expensive and more efficient electric power generation.

The system “ain’t broke,” so it doesn’t need costly “fixing.”
