Letter to the editor: Many of the pandemic mandates are simply about control

Look closely at the two pictures of the basketball players on Page 9 of the Feb. 3 edition of the Summit Daily News. Count the number of people who are wearing their masks properly, and then ask yourself, “Why are they wearing them at all?” What is the point of forcing people to put masks on when no one actually uses them?

The same goes for restaurants. One is told to wear a mask upon entering, but everyone takes them off the second they sit down. Again, what is the point?

The longer the pandemic goes on, the more obvious it becomes that many of the mandates and recommendations are simply about control and always have been.
