Seniors shouldn’t complain about ticket prices

I am a “younger” member of the Over the Hill Gang. I have never quite understood the concept of senior discounts in general, but especially when it comes to skiing. Most of the seniors in Summit County I have skied with are well-heeled and not in need of a discount. I think a young adult or a young parent taking their kids skiing is in much greater need of a discount. Skiing is a luxury – if you can’t afford it, don’t do it. I work hard to make a living and I don’t feel like subsidizing seniors who want to ski at discount. As far as threats that seniors will take their friends and children and grandchildren to resorts that give them a big discount, all I can say is “goodbye and don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.”
