Moran: Vote for someone outsde of the establishment (letter)

After 20 years of living here, I’m writing my first letter. While I agree with most of Kim McGahey’s letter Friday, there are some issues to bring up. Which candidate is the most truthful? Evidence points to Sanders. The rest have big corporations and super PACs backing them. Cruz and Rubio have some good ideas but also have very conservative agendas that would be their priorities. Trump and Clinton are both scary propositions for president. Which leads me to my main point. Why are we stuck with this two-party system? Since I could vote (1980 election), it’s always been the lesser of two evils. How about a third party, a middle of the road, common sense party. I believe in term limits and if congress can’t get anything done, they shouldn’t get paid. And they should have to live by the same rules the public lives by — no lifetime pay, no government health care, etc. So until that happens, vote them out unless you know they’re doing a good job. And vote for someone who is not part of the established political scene. It is time we take back our country and if you want something, work for it. Teach your kids that. Hard work made this country great and laziness and apathy are going to bring it down.
