Deepan Dutta

Deepan Dutta covers Summit County government, pubic lands, health, environment, education, and the ski industry for the Summit Daily News. He comes to the Summit Daily after getting his Master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Colorado Boulder. Deepan is also a practicing lawyer, receiving his law degree from University of Colorado Law School in 2010. He was born and raised in New York City, spending seven years off and on in his parents’ home country of Bangladesh. Deepan’s experience in Bangladesh, a country constantly embroiled in political and religious turmoil, gave him a deep appreciation of a truly free press that can hold power to account. When he’s not in front of his laptop or chasing the next interview, Deepan enjoys taking his dog Bubbles to explore the vast and wild frontier that is Summit. He is also a fiction writer chasing inspiration wherever he can find it, and hopes to publish a novel one day.
