Lindsey Toomer is a reporter covering Breckenridge and Silverthorne town governments, education and environment for the Summit Daily News. She joined the Summit Daily News team in spring 2021.
Originally from Milford, Pennsylvania, Lindsey graduated from Penn State with bachelor’s degrees in digital and print journalism as well as global and international studies. She also holds a minor in French. At Penn State, she served as managing editor of The Daily Collegian — an independent, student-run news outlet — her senior year and interned with the Colorado Press Association. While in school, Lindsey placed 11th in the national Hearst Journalism Awards Program for a profile on Gisele Fetterman, second lady of Pennsylvania.
Lindsey started with Summit Daily a week before graduating, eager to dive right into reporting and learning about the mountain community before moving out West. When she’s not reporting, Lindsey can be found watching Ru Paul’s Drag Race, going to concerts and exploring new places in Summit County. Her favorite outdoor hobbies are kayaking, rock climbing and hiking.
