24 Hours of Frisco set for Saturday

DAILY NEWS STAFF REPORT

FRISCO ” Challenging to some, tortuous to others, downright insane to a few more, trail runners of all persuasions can run all day and all night at the second annual 24 Hours of Frisco trail race Oct. 1-2 at the Frisco Nordic Center.

Somewhat resembling the automotive endurance races like the infamous 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 24 Hours of Frisco is the only trail running team relay of its kind in the mountains. The race’s roughly 5-mile loop starts and finishes at the Nordic Center.

Team racers can run in any order and change the order at any time, though runners are not required to form a team and may tackle the challenge solo. For those on teams, all members of the squad must complete at least one lap between 9:30 a.m. Oct. 1 and 9:30 a.m. Oct. 2.

New this year are six- and 12-hour categories. For more information, call Event Marketing Group at (303)-635-2815 or go to http://www.emgcolorado.com.
