A-Basin to remain open through Fourth of July

It’s official: Summit County’s ski and snowboard season will extend into July this year.

Arapahoe Basin will continue the weekend summer skiing season through the Fourth of July. This will be the first time the ski area has offered skiing on July 4 since 1997.

A-Basin will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays June 24, 25, 26 and July 1, 2, 3. The Mountain will close for the 2010-11 season on Monday, July 4.

Summer ski conditions exist with top to bottom skiing and riding on a midway base of 52″. Two lifts are operating serving 21 trails. The Treeline Terrain Park will be open with a variety of rails and features. Lake Reveal at mid-mountain is also open for pond skimming.

During the Summer Season, the ski area will open at 8:30 a.m. Two lifts will be running each day – Black Mountain Express and Lenawee Mountain Lift will close at 2:30 p.m. Lift tickets at A-Basin will be $39 for adults, $29 for youths (15-19) and $19 for children (6-14) during the Summer Season. No other discount or lift ticket offers will be accepted during this period. Season Passes valid at A-Basin during the regular season will continue to be valid during this Summer Season.

A $10 barbeque lunch special will be featured on the deck at Black Mountain Lodge, the A-Frame Cafe will be open for breakfast and the 6th Alley Bar will serve pizza and drinks. The rental shop will be open with ski, snowboard and clothing rentals and retail sales.
