Anne Scott tennis tourney Saturday

KEYSTONE – Lobbing for charity is on the agenda Saturday at the Keystone Tennis Center. The Anne Scott Memorial Tournament kicks off at 9 a.m. and encourages any adult tennis player rated 3.0 or above to participate.

“It’s a round robin, mixed doubles format, and you’re going to get a different partner each round,” said John O’Connor, tennis pro at Keystone, who knew Anne Scott for her time as a USTA captain at the Tennis Center.

Scott died in a car accident on Interstate 70 two years ago. Proceeds from the tournament will go to her PEO chapter, which will help finance college for a female graduate at Summit High School.

“It’s a fun round robin and a great chance to get to play with new people,” O’Connor said of the tournament. “I have eight courts set aside for the tournament.”

Food and beverages will be provided between matches, and the event will include a silent auction. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Keystone Tennis Center and costs $30 per player. Tournament play concludes at 2 p.m. For more information, call (970) 496-4220.
