BGC outlines tourneys, programs for season

The Breckenridge Golf Club is set to open for the summer season with 18-hole play today and 27-hole play on Friday.The golf club does have a number of shotgun tournaments programmed for June. Dates to plan around include June 1, 2, 9 and 11. The Summit Foundation’s annual tournament, which is being headlined by Adam Foote this year, will be held on June 25-26. Tee times on all tournament days will be limited in the morning, however 18-hole tee times will be available in the afternoon.As always the BGC offers a wide variety of programming for the novice golfer or accomplished golfer. Ladies Night Out, a casual, non-competitive 9-hole round, will take place every other Monday, with tee times starting at 4:30 p.m. The first event is June 4.A free clinic for junior golfers will be held at Breckenridge on Saturday, June 2. This clinic will cover basic elements of the swing, putting and chipping. The clinic will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. Pre-registration is required.Sign-up has begun for the BGC’s group lesson offerings for both adults and children. These classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays.Breckenridge Golf Club will also host the second annual Summit County Day, June 10. Summit County golfers can play for $39 (walking) with a Summit County driver’s license. Included will be a demo day with equipment from top brands.To play the BGC, tee times may be made four days in advance beginning at 8 a.m.Pass restrictions will be lifted for the Memorial Day weekend, as well as June 3 and June 10.
