Big Mountain Enduro series returns to Keystone Bike Park this weekend

Renowned among downhill enthusiasts, the Keystone Bike Park is ready to host the second stage of the Big Mountain Enduro series at Keystone Resort, July 9-10. New this year, the event will also feature a kids FUNduro event on Saturday.

Known as the premier enduro series in North America, the Big Mountain Enduro brings high-speed, adrenaline-fueled, all-mountain riding to the Keystone Bike Park. Competitors will be challenged with Keystone’s top trails, rock gardens, drop features, new track designs and a total of six timed stages. The routes were just announced on Thursday, with pre-riding avaiable for all competitors on the Friday before racing starts. Practice lift tickets are availbel for $22 through the Keystone ticket office in River Run Village.

The Big Mountain Enduro begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Registration is required through the Big Mountain Enduro website or in person at Keystone Sports in River Run Village Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration is limited to 400 riders, male and female, at a rate of $200 for both days of racing, a post-race meal, bike haul, mechanic services and more.

FUNduro Kids Bike Event

While adult competitors navigate the Keystone Bike Park during the second stage of the 2016 Big Mountain Enduro Series, kids will have the exciting opportunity to test their skills during the exclusive, just-for-fun FUNduro Event on Saturday.

This new event gives children (ages 6-12) a chance to sample the thrill of an enduro event, with access to the Keystone skills park near River Run Village, plus green singletrack biking on Easy Street and Sleepy Hollow from 2-5 p.m.

While kids will be timed, this is a non-competitive event presented by Big Mountain Enduro series and the Keystone Bike Park. Registration is free (yes, completely free) and can be completed in person at Keystone. A children’s bike haul pass is required to access the East Street and Sleepy Hollow portion of the FUNduro.
