Breck Slopestyle competition last chance to go Massive

Spring is a good time for freestylers to go big. It1s also the last opportunity to go massive on the slopestyle course. As part of its annual Spring Massive Festival, Breckenridge is hosting the last slopestyle competition of the season Wednesday, and registration is limited.

3The field is going to be capped at 120,² said Breck special events manager Chris Searles. 3We1re expecting it to sell out. This is definitely one of the more popular events for Spring Massive. We1re expecting some pros to show up.²

Breck Freeride Team members Kyla Duffy and Nick Drago will be among the field competing for $2,000 to be split between four categories of men and women1s skiing and snowboarding.

3It1s a great chance for everyone to showcase the skills they1ve been working on in the park all year,² Searles said. 3It1s also a great way to show off the park. It1s all about having fun and maybe earning a little cash.²

Six judges from Summit and Eagle counties will scrutinize skiers and riders on the size and style of their hits. The course will include everything above the pipe in the Peak 8 Freeway Terrain Park.

Registration for the slopestyle competition is $20. To register, call (970) 453-5000. For more information, visit the Spring Massive page on
