Breckenridge Ski Resort has finalized its spring plans when it comes to terrain open during its extended spring season through Memorial Day. Breck will have approximately 1,000 acres open across Peaks 6, 7 and 8, with no beginner terrain and only intermediate to advanced terrain open for late season skiers, as weather conditions permit.

In accordance with the resort’s gondola operations agreement with the town of Breckenridge, the BreckConnect Gondola will not operate for public use this May during the extended winter season. During this time, the resort will shift its main base area from Peak 8, and the town will provide complimentary bus service to transport skiers and riders between Breck Station and Peak 7.

The Peak 7 base area will serve as the hub for all spring operations, with the Independence SuperChair, T-Bar, Imperial Express, Zendo Chair and Kensho SuperChair open through Memorial Day, while the 6 Chair and BreckConnect Gondola will stay open through Sunday, April 28. Resort hours of operation during Breck’s Spring Finale are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. High-alpine terrain and upper-mountain lifts may open and close on a different time schedule due to weather, snow conditions and ski patrol work.

On the eastern side of the county — and soon to be on the opposite side of Vail Resorts after ending their Epic Pass arrangement after this season — Arapahoe Basin Ski Area announced on Wednesday that its own season pass will be the only unlimited season pass product for A-Basin in the 2019-20 season. The pass, currently on sale for $399 and going up to $449 on May 1, will be the only pass that will offer the option to ski more than eight days at A-Basin. The ski area is still negotiating to sign on to a different resort pass program from Epic, but even if they do they will not offer unlimited skiing.
