Breckenridge Golf Club geared up for season

DAILY NEWS STAFF REPORT

With the wonderful spring weather Summit County has experienced the past few days, the golf season is swinging into high gear at the Breckenridge Golf Club. In the coming few weeks, the club will have a number of exciting upcoming events.

On Saturday, the professional staff will conduct a free clinic at 9 a.m. for juniors ages 5-18. The clinic will cover putting, chipping, pitching and the full swing. Equipment will be provided if needed. This is a great opportunity to introduce your children to the game of a lifetime. Advanced registration is requested and may be made by calling the pro shop at (970) 453-9104.

Adult and junior group lessons have begun, with the adult beginners and intermediate sessions on Tuesday, and juniors begin next Tuesday in the afternoon.

Once again the golf club will offer special tee times just for beginners. These times will provide new and novice golfers the chance to play in a stress-free environment. Members of the golf club staff will be available on the first tee to answer questions for our newer golfers. Tee times will be available starting at 9:30 on Tuesday. Special rates are available to Summit County residents holding a valid Summit County drivers license.

This summer the golf club will again be hosting its popular Nine and Wine in conjunction with the Clubhouse Restaurant. Our first Nine and Wine will be held on June 11 at 4 p.m. Enjoy the opportunity to play nine holes while sampling and learning about select wines, about every three holes. Green fees are $30 or you may use your resident pass. There is a wine tasting fee. Tee times may be made starting Monday.

For more information, call the clubhouse at (970) 453-9104.
