Cash Cow comp returns to Copper Mountain

Normally, boardercross athletes are narrowly focused on chasing down their opponents, covering the long, windy, snow-packed courses in the quickest time possible.

Sunday and Monday at Copper Mountain, there’s a whole different aspect to think about, or rather, there are 10,000 to think about.

The Krahooligan Cash Cow is back and offering a $10,000 purse in a boardercross competition, available to all competitors.

The men’s field is open to 80 riders, the women’s to 40, and prize money could be handed out to as many as 12 athletes.

The men’s winner will receive $2,000, while the top-six finishers will get checks as well. The top-four women get a payout, with the winner receiving $1,600. There will also be prize money for the fastest male ($200) and female ($100) riders in the time trials.

The competition kicks off Sunday with a two-run time trial for the field, with the top-32 men and top-16 women advancing to Monday’s finals.
