Copper Snowboard Series starts Sunday with GS, SL


COPPER MOUNTAIN – Copper Mountain will play host to the first of its United States of America Snowboard Association sanctioned events on Sunday. The series begins with giant slalom and slalom alpine races. This competition will be followed by a series of superpipe, slopestyle, boardercross, giant slalom and slalom competitions throughout the winter. The USASA Copper Mountain Snowboard Series is the longest-running amateur snowboard and freestyle ski series in North America. This year, the series has expanded to include events at two additional resorts. Howelsen Hill will host giant slalom and slalom alpine races on Dec. 17, and Winter Park will host both halfpipe and slopestyle contests on Feb. 11 and 12.Athletes must register for each event online and be current USASA members. Registration will not be available on the day of the event. Registration for the event on Dec. 11 ends at midnight on Wednesday, Dec. 7.
