De le Rue and Krings clinch season titles with wins

TANDADALEN, Sweden ” Xavier De le Rue of France secured the snowboardcross title by winning his second event of the season Thursday, while Austria’s Doresia Krings won the women’s event at the World Cup finals.

Jasey Jay Anderson, who trailed De le Rue by 245 points before the event, finished second on the men’s side, with De le Rue’s brother Paul-Henri grabbing third place.

With the win, De le Rue clinched the season title with 4,020 points, ahead of Anderson with 3575.7.

Mellie Francon of Switzerland finished second in the women’s event, ahead of Canada’s Maelle Ricker. Krings topped the final discipline standings ahead of Deborah Anthonioz of France and climbed to second place in the overall standings, behind Daniela Meuli of Switzerland.
