Dossett rebounds with career night to lead SHS to win

MOFFAT COUNTY – Kylor Dossett scored a career-best 25 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead the Summit High School boys basketball team to its first win Saturday, 51-37 over a good Moffat County team.”Tonight was the Kylor Dossett show,” said SHS coach Mike Rathgeber. “They couldn’t stop him.”Dossett’s performance came a game after he uncharacteristically turned the ball over in the waning moments of the Tigers’ opener against Skyview, with Summit down by one.”I was just heartbroken after that game,” said Dossett, who added he wanted to prove to everyone on Saturday the real Kylor Dossett had yet to show his face. The Tigers (1-1) were down 24-23 at the half against Moffat, but took away the hosts’ perimeter game and completely controlled the final 16 minutes on the offensive end thanks to Dossett.Seniors Mike Holloway and Garrison Green scored 12 and eight points, respectively, with Green also grabbing nine boards.Still, the night belonged to their classmate. “He was on a mission to erase what happened (against Skyview),” said Rathgeber of Dossett, who scored from all over the floor against Moffat (1-1). “We saw it coming.”Summit hosts Lake County Tuesday night in its home opener.Devon O’Neil can be contacted at (970) 668-3998, ext. 231, or at
