Egging pitches complete game for Summit team

Luke Egging pitched a four hitter in the Tigers 5-1 victory over Battle Mountain, bringing the season record to 12-4.

Summit’s boys baseball team beat Battle Mountain High School 5-1 Tuesday night. Senior standout Luke Egging pitched a complete game four hitter and was one for three at the plate to help the Tigers improve to 12-4 on the season.

Offensively the Tigers were led with two hits by Turner McDonald, Ricky Seltzer, Thomas DeBonville and Sam Hull. McDonald led off the game and went two for three on the night, bringing in two of the Tigers’ five RBIs. Summit proved the dominant team for the day totaling 11 hits in the game compared to Battle Mountain’s four hits.

The team will travel to Delta on Saturday, May 2 for a double header to close out the regular season. Delta is currently ranked third in the Western Slope League, one game behind Summit. Undefeated Palisade currently leads the league with a 12-0 record in conference play.
