Health Quest races set for today

COPPER MOUNTAIN – The fourth annual Health Quest comes to Copper today, beginning this morning and running through the afternoon. The day is dedicated to health, fitness and general well-being, and includes a health expo, kids’ activities, live music, a 5K road race, a 10K trail race, silent auction and the Big Bash Barbeque. All proceeds will benefit Advocates for Victims of Assault and the cancer prevention efforts of Women of the Summit. The day is highlighted, sports-wise, by the two-foot races. The 5K is both a race for serious runners and a walk for those who want to come out and enjoy a beautiful fall day in the mountains with friends and family. The 10K is a great way to get a tough workout on the off-road terrain around the resort. Race package includes a T-shirt, goody bag, water and a post-race snack. Both races (and all other activities) start at the Village at Copper. The races kick off at 10 a.m.A variety of health and fitness professionals will be on hand to provide informative health checks, exciting demonstrations and advice on maintaining healthy lifestyles. Participants can check out the latest in organic food, nutritional supplements, workout equipment, yoga and pilates techniques.
