Intrawest donates $12K to Special Olympics Colo.


COPPER MOUNTAIN – Intrawest Colorado (ITWCO), owner and operator of Copper Mountain and Winter Park Resorts, has announced a $12,000 donation will be made to Special Olympics Colorado (SOCO) from portions of 2004 Four Pass sales at Copper and Winter Park. The presentation will be made at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at Copper’s Burning Stones Plaza. In addition, SOCO athletes will convene on the resort for training throughout the day.According to Gary Rodgers, Senior Vice President of Operations for ITWCO, the donation is part of the company’s commitment to help the SOCO grow. “This donation is just a small portion of what we’ll be doing to help SOCO succeed this year and in years to come,” said Rodgers. “SOCO is an amazing, rewarding organization and we’re proud to be a part of its success. Whether it’s helping provide training at Copper or donating money, we’re dedicated to its progression and ability to provide more athletes an opportunity to participate in winter sports throughout Colorado.” Over 500 athletes from around the state are expected at Copper Feb. 27-28 for the 27th annual Special Olympics Colorado Winter Games. Now in its 17th consecutive year at Copper Mountain, the competition will include alpine skiing, cross country skiing, figure skating, snowshoeing and snowboarding.
