COLORADO SPRINGS – Summit High School hockey took a shortened bench to Air Academy Monday night trying to reverse a home loss on Saturday to the Kadets.

It didn’t work out so well.

The Tigers fell to the Kadets, 6-2, with a slew of injured or ineligible players not taking the road trip.

But this allowed some young faces to shine.

Sophomore Alex Edwards scored his first major playing time of the year, and also scored a goal.

Sophomore Grant McGahey also scored his first goal for Summit.

Summit trailed 4-0 after the first period, before equaling the Kadets in the final two periods.

Summit hockey might have lost Chris Kuhn for the season. Kuhn left Monday’s game with a broken and dislocated wrist.

Summit takes on defending state champs Kent Denver in Denver Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
