The second annual Street Swell Winter Triathlon will wrap up the 2010-11 Pedal Power Snowshoe Adventure Series Feb. 19 in Leadville.

The race consists of a 5k snowshoe run, a 10k snow bike and an 8k skate-ski.

The event starts from Leadville’s Colorado Mountain College Timberline campus at 10 a.m.

The Street Swell was so well received by the snowshoe and endurance community after last year’s inaugural event that it will wrap up this year’s winter triathlon season by acting as the North American Championships.

Racers should meet at CMC, just south of town, 1 hour before the start to leave time to register and coordinate equipment. It is suggested that participants call Pedal Power in advance at (970) 845-0931 for directions.

Pre-registration is $35 for individuals and $30 per person for teams. Racers can register on the day of the race for $40 for individuals and $30 per person for teams. Participants can pre-register with forms from Pedal Power Bicycle Shop in Eagle-Vail or by calling (970) 845-0931. Registration forms can also be downloaded online at pedalpowerbike.com. Participants may also register on the day of the event at the race start.
