With two goals from speedster Emily Burch, Ryan Rodgers and Johann Westerhoff, the Summit Lightning peewee B team dominated the Greeley Renegades 8-4 in a league game Saturday at the Stephen C. West Ice Arena.

The win not only kept the Lightning on top of the conference standing but also kept Summit’s record perfect on the season at 6-0.

And Saturday, it didn’t take long for the Lightning to show why they still hadn’t been beaten.

Westerhoff started Summit’s scoring barrage with two quick goals to start the game.

Then in the second period, the Lightning pulled away. Goals from Mike Farley, Rodgers and Sean Costello increased the Summit lead, and a pair of impressive breakaway tallies from Burch put the game away.

The Renegades would score four times in the third, but a second goal from Rodgers and solid goaltending from Wyatt Dickerson thwarted any hopes of a Greeley comeback.

The rest of the peewee league will have to wait a bit to get a chance at blemishing Summit’s perfect record. The Lightning don’t play again until a home-and-away series with Vail on Dec. 12 and 13. The first game will be at The Steve.
