Live coverage from opening day at Loveland and A-Basin

With more than 17 inches of new snow, Loveland Ski Area announced Thursday, Oct. 29 as opening day. The ski area began ramping up snowmaking efforts as temperatures dropped last week.

Today marks the start of ski season in Colorado. Both Arapahoe Basin Ski Area and Loveland Ski Area are scheduled to open terrain after weeks of favorable weather conditions and aggressive snowmaking. The Summit Daily will be live-blogging the event throughout the day.
