Local wrestler named to college Hall of Fame

SUMMIT COUNTY – Summit County resident Paul Jungck will be inducted into the Ferris State University Bulldog Athletics Hall of Fame this fall.

Jungck was a wrestling standout from 1981 to 1985 at the school in Big Rapids, Mich.

Jungck collected a 45-6 overall record as a junior, setting a school record for wins in a single season. That year – 1984 – he placed third at the NCAA Division II Championships. As a 190-pound senior, he went 28-16, won his second straight Mideast Regional Championship and was sixth at nationals. His career mark stands at 83-36 (.697), and he earned All-American honors for both athletics and academics.
