Memorial service for Malay Saturday

VAIL – A memorial service for Josh Malay will be held at Beaver Creek this Saturday.

Malay, a Vail team rider and Beaver Creek snowboarding ambassador, passed away Feb. 29 at 4 a.m. following a snowboarding accident in Spain.

The service will be on the mountain at Beaver Creek’s Spruce Saddle Lodge.

The service starts at 9 a.m., and those attending can start loading the Centennial Lift (Chair 6) at 8:30 a.m. located at the base of the mountain.

Please plan on meeting at the base of the lift at 8 a.m. Beaver Creek Resort is providing foot passenger tickets at the lift for guests attending the service.

Free parking with shuttle transportation to the lifts is available at the base of Beaver Creek.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Josh Malay Memorial Fund, which can be sent to 2429 Champa St., Denver, CO 80204. For questions about the fund, please call (970) 390-3651.
