Milwaukee masters Denver, 110-89

DENVER – Michael Redd had 24 points and nine rebounds, and Charlie Bell added 17 points in the Milwaukee Bucks’ 110-89 victory over Denver on Monday night.

Andrew Bogut and Jamaal Magloire scored 16 points apiece for the Bucks, who ended a six-game losing streak against the Nuggets dating to Jan. 25, 2003.Carmelo Anthony had 19 points for Denver, but only four in the second half after the Bucks had built a 24-point lead. Newcomers Ruben Patterson and Reggie Evans combined for 11 points for the Nuggets.

Earl Boykins, who had eight of Denver’s 18 points in the fourth quarter connected on his first three shots to cut it to 93-79 with 7:22 left, but Bobby Simmons hit a 3-pointer. The Nuggets closed within 14 again on Boykins’ two free throws, but Joe Smith hit a jumper and a layup with 5:08 left to make it 102-84.Milwaukee shot 58 percent in the first half to take a 69-45 lead. The 69 points are the Bucks’ most in a half this season



Notes: Magloire and Bogut are the only Bucks to play in every game this season. … Denver’s Kenyon Martin played despite a left knee contusion. … Denver has been outrebounded in 13 of its last 14 games.
