Daily News staff reports

COPPER MOUNTAIN – Copper Mountain Resort’s new ski school offering, the Coors Bump Busters Clinic, begins today.

The clinic will cover mogul technique, training, equipment, safety and etiquette, and mental focus.

Led by competitive mogul skier Stephen Karp and taught by a team of competitive-level certified instructors, the full-day clinic also includes a before and after video analysis and a comprehensive participant handbook. Karp skied on the United States Ski and Snowboard Association Tour for four years and the World Tour for nine years.

The Coors Bump Busters program will be offered every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at a cost of $82.99 per person, including materials.

Today, a one-time promotional price of $39 per person will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information on Bump Busters, call (866) 464-4432.

Youth snowboard tour begins in Telluride

TELLURIDE – The newly formed Rocky Mountain Snowboard Tour (RMST) will conduct its first race Jan. 24-25, with a giant slalom and slalom scheduled for Telluride.

The Telluride Ski and Snowboard Club will host the race.

Representatives from six of the states competitive snowboard teams, including Team Summit, have come together to form the RMST with the goal of providing competition and development opportunities for its riders and to ease the transition from grassroots events to upper-level events.

Information and registration forms for the event can be found on the RMST website at http://www.tssc.org/RMST.
