New schedule announced for Summit football team

FARMER’S KORNER – Summit High School football has a new schedule.

After deciding to drop out of the Class 4A Jeffco League last season in order to play an independent schedule, athletic director Gretchen Nies began contacting smaller schools to fill the 2004-05 football schedule.

Last week, it was finalized.

The new schedule starts Sept. 3 with a home game against West Grand of Kremmling.

The new opponents also include Woodland Park, Aspen, Battle Mountain, Buena Vista, Lake County, Salida, Manitou Springs, Rock Canyon and Sheridan.

The Tigers play five home games, including the game against Battle Mountain.
