On The Hill: Overnight snowstorm brings winter back to Breck (snow video)

On The Hill is brought to you by The Steadman Clinic and the Steadman Philippon Research Institute.

VIDEO: After nearly two full weeks of no fresh snow and unseasonably warm weather, Z Griff heads to Breckenridge after the Valentine’s Day snowstorm for powder all across the mountain’s front side. It never fails: when in search of pow, head to the trees.

Breckenridge official report: 4″ overnight, 10″ in 24 hours, 14″ in 48 hours

Summit Daily field report: Very excited that winter is back although it still remains rather warm. Snow should be excellent today with blown-in spots.

Weather: High 40 F, low 22 F. Partly cloudy.

Lift lines: We are into the midweek bliss after a busy weekend but there are a lot of hungry pow hounds.

Breakdown: Today will see some great snow in the high alpine and excellent pow groomers. Going to be some deep windblown deposits today, but as usual the wind did completely remove snow from other places so be aware of variable conditions.
