On The Hill: Snow Wars and short shorts at the Ullr Fest parade (video)

On The Hill is brought to you by The Steadman Clinic and the Steadman Philippon Research Institute.

VIDEO: It’s that time of year again, Ullr Fest, when Breckenridge pays tribute to the Norse bringer of snow with parades, shotskis and ice plunges. So far it’s working: the town and mountain saw about 4 inches of fresh snow on parade day after two weeks of hardly anything. Z Griff joins the crowds on Main Street to catch the craziness.

Summit Daily field report: It’s cold and cloudy outside but more snow is in the forecast.

Weather: High 23 degrees, low 9 degrees.

Lift lines: Ullr Fest brought more people to town but things aren’t too bad out there — yet. With new snow the weekend could be packed.

Breakdown: There’s nothing like a mid-winter festival in Breck. Head out for riding and revelry, it’s good everywhere.
