Summit’s Shannon Sonnett finished fourth at 25:38.4 and Leah Venturoni snuck into the top 10 at 10th with a time of 26:24.0.

In the boys race, a handful of Tigers made the top 10, with Kevin Soller finishing fourth at 20:27.4, Kyle Ahern in sixth at 20:33.1, Patrick Neel in eighth at 20:40.6, and Bentley Bedker in 10th at 20:54.0.

“I was incredibly happy with the results,” head coach Richard Nelson said.

The Tigers next competition is at Spring Gulch on Saturday at 10 a.m.

COLORADO SPRINGS – Summit High School hockey fell to Pine Creek Saturday morning, 8 -1.

The Tigers gained momentum in the third when Cam Carlson scored Summit’s only goal, but a five-minute penalty moments later curbed the charge. The Tigers would spend much of the third period in a five-on-three situation, and gave up four goals in the waning moments.

Summit travels to Colorado Academy on Saturday at 7:45 p.m.
