SHS football loses 42-6

After winning its opener in a thriller over 1A West Grand, the SHS football team dropped its second game to a solid Woodland Park team on the road Friday, 42-6. Ryan Eberhart caught a 35-yard fourth-quarter touchdown pass from freshman Scott Campbell for Summit’s only score, but by then the outcome had been decided.The Panthers (1-1) rumbled for 351 yards on the ground against Summit, completing just five passes.Senior Brandon Ives led SHS with 23 yards rushing, and Nick Nilsen and Cameron Chapman added 21 and 17, respectively.The Tigers (1-1) host 2A Aspen on Friday.Devon O’Neil can be contacted at (970) 668-3998, ext. 231, or at
