Silverthorne’s Hauser 39th at Worlds

Silverthorne’s Drew Hauser finished 39th Thursday in the classic race at the Telemark Ski World Championships in Rjukan, Norway.

Hauser, a Summit High grad and 2009 World Junior champion, was the fifth-fastest American in the race.

Shane Anderson, who skis out of Steamboat Springs, finished 16th.

Hauser, a student at the University of Nevada, will be in Saturday’s spring classic field, along with Summit County’s other competitor, Tommy Gogolen, who didn’t race Thursday.
