Snowboard on the Block Fest brings new name, location to Denver Oct. 14-15

The biggest block party of the fall is back and comes with more snow porn than ever before.

From Oct. 14-15, the annual Snowboard on the Block festival returns to downtown Denver with a new venue, new name and new presenting sponsor. TEN (aka The Enthusiast Network) takes over for founding sponsor Snowboard Colorado magazine for the revamped Block Festival 2016, now held at the Denver Sculpture Park and indoor theaters at the Denver Performing Arts Complex.

It’s a far cry from the legitimate block party of old — the event was once held in the old packing district on 32nd and Larimer — but the Block Festival’s new digs mean better sound and video for the real draw: more than a dozen snowboard films premieres from Absinthe Films, Transworld Snowboarding, Snowboarder Magazine and more.

The festival begins Friday, Oct. 14, with film premieres and concerts from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. The festival continues Saturday, Oct. 15 at 1 p.m. with films and concerts from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Along with films and music, there will also be vendor tents, giveaways and an outdoor rail jam on Saturday (time TBA) with pros like Summit local Brendan Gerard, Lucas Magoon and Dylan Alito, plus about a dozen more.

Tickets are $49.98 for both days ($94.98 for VIP access) or $39.98 for single-day tickets. Entry is open to just about anyone: 15 years and younger with an adult, 16-18 years old with recommended adult supervision and 21 years or older with a valid ID for alcohol. For more info or to buy tickets before the event (highly recommended), see the website at
