Squirt B’s split with Pueblo

After a three-week break for the holidays, the Summit Squirt B’s traveled to Pueblo for two league games this past weekend. In the opener, Summit fell behind 2-0 before a goal from Sean Farley with eight seconds left in the first period got them within one. The second period was better with goals from Riley Hillis (assisted by Levi Ascher) and Sam Weston to tie the score at 3. Peter Grotemeyer followed with two unassisted goals to clinch the win for Summit. Jack Nevicosi (assisted by Hillis) and Farley (assisted by Ascher and Hillis) tacked on two more goals for a final score of 7-3. Hunter Marsh served as goaltender for the first half of the game and Kyle Guth tended a perfect net the second half. The Summit Squirts did not fare as well in the next game. Grotemeyer (assisted by Weston) and Hillis scored the only two goals in a 10-2 loss. Dillon Ventola, Ben Schoeffield, Blake Horan and Reiker Edstorm round out the rest of the Summit lineup.
