Summit Bouldering Series hits Breckenridge

BRECKENRIDGE – The competitive climbing season is under way with the second competition of the Summit Bouldering Series slated for Friday, at the Breckenridge Recreation Center from 5-9 p.m. The series welcomes climbers of all ages and abilities who want to compete to win great prizes and showcase their skills. The annual Summit Bouldering Series, sponsored by local companies such as Mountain Outfitters, Downstairs at Eric’s, Wilderness Sports, Maxwell Street Grill and the Dillon Dam Brewery, features climbing competitions at Red Mountain Rock Gym in Silverthorne and the Breck Recreation Center. The series consists of six competitions from October until March. The region’s best climbers come out for these events, which are some of the only competitions of their kind in the High Country.Registration for Friday’s competition begins at 5 p.m. the day of the event. Climbing will take place 6-9 p.m. at the rec center. Cost is $15 for members of the Red Mountain Rock Gym or the Breck Rec Center and $20 for all others.
