Summit Daily NFL Picks: Week 9

Welcome to our little science experiment. Throughout this season we are printing weekly NFL picks, against the spread, from sports editor Devon O’Neil, weekend editor Duffy Hayes and managing editor Ryan Slabaugh. All three think they know something about football. Our experiment’s fourth contestant is the copy editor team of Elusia Andrus and Leslie Brefeld, a pair of girls who do not claim to know a thing about the NFL. Now eight weeks in, one of the guys finally caught the girls. As Slabaugh used his second straight winning week to pull into a tie for first, Hayes – the former leader – dropped into last, but just barely. It’s still anyone’s guess how this will play out.Last week:Slabaugh: 8-6 (58-58 overall)Girls: 6-8 (58-58 overall)O’Neil: 7-7 (57-59 overall)Hayes: 7-7 (56-60 overall)This week:Indianapolis (-3) at New EnglandColts: HayesPats: O’Neil, Slabaugh, Andrus/BrefeldPhiladelphia at Washington (-3)Eagles: O’Neil, SlabaughRedskins: Hayes, Andrus/BrefeldAtlanta (-2.5) at MiamiFalcons: Hayes, O’Neil, SlabaughDolphins: Andrus/BrefeldCarolina (-1.5) at Tampa BayPanthers: Hayes, O’Neil, Slabaugh, Andrus/BrefeldChicago (-3) at New Orleans (Baton Rouge)Bears: Hayes, O’NeilSaints: Slabaugh, Andrus/BrefeldSan Diego (-6.5) at New York JetsChargers: Hayes, O’NeilJets: Slabaugh, Andrus/BrefeldPittsburgh (even) at Green BaySteelers: O’NeilPackers: Hayes, Slabaugh, Andrus/BrefeldCincinnati (-3) at BaltimoreBengals: Hayes, O’Neil, Andrus/BrefeldRavens: SlabaughNew York Giants (-10) at San FranciscoGiants: O’Neil, Slabaugh, Andrus/Brefeld49ers: HayesSeattle (-4.5) at ArizonaSeahawks: O’NeilCardinals: Hayes, Slabaugh, Andrus/BrefeldOakland at Kansas City (-4.5)Raiders: Hayes, SlabaughChiefs: O’Neil, Andrus/BrefeldDetroit (-1.5) at MinnesotaVikings: Hayes, O’Neil, Slabaugh, Andrus/BrefeldHouston at Jacksonville (-13.5)Jaguars: O’Neil, SlabaughTexans: Hayes, Andrus/BrefeldTennessee at Cleveland (-3)Titans: O’Neil, Andrus/BrefeldBrowns: Hayes, Slabaugh
