With 10 different players scoring goals and the defensive clicking, the Summit High girls’ lacrosse team earned an emphatic 19-4 win over host Thomas Jefferson High School, Wednesday.

“It was really good for them,” SHS head coach Kristin Elliott said after her team snapped a six-game losing streak. “This definitely boosts us up heading into our last game (of the season) on Friday.”

Senior Steph Snyder led the Tigers with three goals on the day, while Jaclin Limone, Bri Barto, Victoria Strassler, Cody Seaboldt and Kelly Joyce all scored twice.

After some inconsistent play of late, Elliott was very pleased to see her team’s performance against Jefferson.

“The other team didn’t have the best record, but we really picked it up with our level of play,” the coach said. ” … We were really trying to make sure that they played hard and well heading into Friday, because it would be a lot nicer way to end the season ” on two wins.”

Elliott credited senior Catie Woessner with leading her team’s defensive effort.

“She has been a real solid defensive player for us all season,” Elliott said. “She’s going to be tough to replace next year.”

The Tigers (6-7) end their season with an away game Golden at 3:30 p.m.
