Summit High School fall practices start on Monday

FARMER’S KORNER – Summit High School’s about ready sweat, kick, tumble, tackle, spike and hit as the fall sports teams start practice Monday. Here’s the info for fall sports:

– Football players will hit the gridiron at Tiger Field between 8-10:30 a.m. and 5:30-8 p.m. under the watchful eye of head coach Rob Royer, who can be reached at (970) 513-6758.

– Soccer players should report to Tiger Field at noon to head coach Peter Shafroth, who can be reached at (970) 547-1477.

– Volleyball players should head to the large gym at Summit High School for practice between 7-9:30 a.m. and 5:30-8 p.m. Head coach Darren Buckner can be reached at (970) 968-2698.

– Cross country runners are meeting at the Frisco Peninsula Recreation Area between 5-6:30 p.m. Head coach Heather Qurantillo can be reached at (970) 968-2593.

– Gymnastics athletes should report to the small gym at Summit High School at 9 a.m. to head coach Beth Flaherty, who can be reached at (970) 389-0334.

– Softball players should report to the Blue River Fields in Breckenridge at 10 a.m. to head coach Michelle Koehler, who can be reached at (970) 406-0317. All participants must have a current physical, a parent permission slip and a health history on file. Fall athletes should pay the $70 athletic fees on the first day of practice.
