With the fall sports season coming to a close this week, only Summit High School’s girls rugby team is still in action.

Following their 76-0 playoff win over Chaparral High School over the weekend, the lady Tigers will look to defend their six consecutive state titles on Saturday, Nov. 8, against Fort Collins.

Soccer: The boys soccer team’s postseason run ended Saturday with a quarterfinals matchup against The Classical Academy, the tournament’s No. 2 seed. After jumping to a 2-0 lead in the first half, the undefeated Titans took down the Tigers 3-1. It was The Classical Academy’s second win over the Tigers this season. The Titans were the only team to beat Summit in the regular season with a 3-1 win back in September on the Tigers’ home field.

Football: The Tiger boys football team finished its season with another tough loss, falling to Rifle 40-7. The Western Slope champion Bears came out firing early and often, jumping to a 26-0 lead in the first quarter and adding another 14 before halftime. Rifle’s Brock Clark accounted for four of his team’s six scores, including two interceptions returned for touchdowns. With the loss Summit closed the season 1-9 overall.
