Summit Lightning Pee Wee B’s enjoy early season success

ASPEN – The Summit Lightning Pee Wee B’s are off to a flashy start this season.

Summit skated to a fourth place finish in the Aspen Fall Face Off tournament in Aspen on Halloween weekend after winning their first two games against Aspen and Boulder.

In the season opener, Summit Lightning smashed Vail, 10-0.

Brandon Smith opened the scoring three minutes into the first period, assisted by Shamus O’Neill.

Kyle Johnson, Travis Abrahamson and Kole Morrel also scored in the first period. O’Neill assisted on the Morrel goal.

In the second period, Abrahamson and O’Neill scored goals while Michael Daniels found the net twice.

Johnson, Morrel and Garrett Spenst assisted those goals.

Third-period action had Sonny Magrino scoring off an assist by Jon Gutierrez.

Alex Weston netted Summit’s 10th goal and was unassisted.

Goaltender Andrew Dunlap registered the shutout.

Also skating for Summit were Peter Secor, Sam Dickstein, Brad Zimmerman and Zach Dobson. Coaching the Pee Wees this year are Dave Perisho, Mike Ahlman, Don Dobson and Ryan Roberts.
