Summit riders top Boarderfest in Crested Butte

Breckenridge snowboarder Stacy Kunkel won the women1s boardercross and the triple air competition this week at the U.S. Extreme Boarderfest at Crested Butte.

Despite being a newcomer to competition, Kunkel beat other triple air riders by more than two points with her score of 26.3, and finished first in the boarder cross. Garidey Blasingame of Dillon also put in a good showing, taking fifth in boardercross and fourth in triple air. Copper Mountain1s Dena Melinn took eight in boarder cross, and in the men1s competition, Frisco1s Brent Meyer took fifth in triple air with 30.9 points.

The Boarderfest will be broadcasted on ESPN2 April 12.
